Introducing Turbo mode for smooth
trading experience

By 2024, India’s F&O ecosystem had grown rapidly. While platforms like Zerodha and Upstox served the retail crowd, advanced traders continued to face gaps seeking sharper insights, cleaner clarity, and faster execution.
Capmint, a new-age fintech, set out to bridge that gap building a calm yet high-performance trading terminal crafted for India’s most active traders, across web and mobile.
This case study brings together those challenges and their outcomes a redesigned Option Chain, Basket Orders, and Turbo Mode that together created a unified trading experience and cut execution friction by more than 20%.

Trader's journey
1)Speculate
Speculating prices begins with identifying patterns. Skilled traders develop an intuitive map of market forces news, global cues, past data, and price behavior. But when the market goes live, their attention narrows to one decision to take a trade.
After deep analysis and pattern recognition built over years, a trader forms a hypothesis for example,
“HDFC BANK might reach ₹1001 in the next few hours.”
What traders typically look at while speculating from charts:

2)Place a trade.
Once you’ve formed your view on the stock’s direction, you can either trade the stock itself or use its derivatives like Futures and Options to act on your prediction.

3)Monitor trade
Speculating prices begins with identifying patterns. Skilled traders develop an intuitive map of market forces news, global cues, past data, and price behavior. But when the market goes live, their attention narrows to one decision to take a trade.

4)Exit from Trade
You close your trade either when your target price is hit if your prediction turns out right or to limit losses when the market moves against you.
Many traders also set stop-loss and target orders to exit automatically once a certain profit or loss level is reached.

F&O trader cohorts
To gather behavioral insights into how active traders track, interpret, and act on market data especially while managing multiple open positions in volatile F&O segments.
At Capmint, our goal was to understand how real traders think their mental shortcuts, emotional triggers, and behaviors while navigating the Option Chain and trading sessions.
I conducted 12 telephonic interviews to uncover trading habits, pain points, and decision patterns, and 4 shadow sessions with our co-founders both active high-frequency traders to observe real-time behaviours and entry–exit decisions during market volatility. F&O trader cohort was mainly divided into two types:
Scalpers / Pro Traders
100-200 trades/day
They open and close trades within seconds, taking advantage of tiny price movements on the chart.
For them, speed and precision are everything every millisecond and chart tick counts.
Strategy Makers
They trade in bulk buying and selling several contracts at a time based on a set strategy.
Here, planning and position management matter more than speed or rapid chart movements.
